Slash Styles Licks

So, you want to learn some Slash Style Licks? Slash is one of today’s guitar heroes that came to life during the late 80’s with his band Guns N’ Roses. Since then he has made appearances with countless other artist and even has his own new solo album coming out soon. The videos below include some of Slash’s best licks. Be sure to take the licks nice and slow at first to make sure that you are playing them correctly. Remember, being accurate is more important than being “fast!”

If you are wondering what kind of gear Slash uses, he uses an old fashion set up with a Marshall amp and a Gibson Les Paul. For his complete set up, check out this overview of Slash’s guitar rig. Jimi Hendrix Style Licks

Who doesn’t want to play like Jimi Hendrix? Here is a video of some great (and classic) licks in the style of Jimi Hendrix. As you watch the video, you will definitely hear the licks that Jimi used a lot whether it was that exact lick or a variation. This is a great lesson lick for anyone who wants to play like the master of the guitar. He plays the lick at a normal tempo first and then plays the lick again slowly.

If you are wondering how to get that sound, all you need is a nice Fender Stratocaster and a Dunlop Jimi Hendrix Fuzz Face. After you master these licks and have the proper equipment, you will be well on your way to playing like one of the greatest guitar players of all time.
