Guitar Lessons with Zakk Wylde
Zakk Wylde is one of the guitar legends and has played with just about everybody that is worth playing with. What is the biggest thing that you can take away from this video? The point that perfect practice makes perfect. Zakk would sit at home for 10-12 hours a day and practice, practice, practice! He practiced pentatonic scales and his favorite songs – always playing to a metronome. And it sure seems that all of that practice paid off for him!

Guitar Lessons with Dimebag Darrell
Every guitarist should be familiar with Dimebag Darrell and his guitar playing. Dimebag Darrell was one of the greats when it comes to guitar playing. In the videos, you will learn some of Dime’s classic guitar riffs as well as some great information on playing guitar. He also goes over a little bit of guitar gear and effects.
Check out the video and be sure to pay close attention to technique. As always, practice each lick slow and with a metronome at first to make sure that you get the lick down clean and smooth. There is no point in being able to play fast and shred if you are going to be sloppy doing it.

There are very few bands that have sold millions of albums, sold out thousands of shows, and that have become on of the biggest bands in the world – and Metallica is one of those bands. They have some great albums and they are a continuing legacy of metal music. One of their most popular albums was “Master of Puppets.” Hundreds of guitarist have tried and tried to master Metallica songs, but most fall short of Kirk Hammetts guitar skills and riffs.
How do you learn to play like Kirk Hammet? Well, one of the best ways his to get him to teach you how to play. Sure, it seems like an impossible task, but I have a video for you to watch and learn some of Kirk’s classic riff taught by Kirk Hammett himself.

How To Play Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana
Here is another Nirvana song – probably the biggest song by Nirvana, “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” This is one of those songs that is a must for rock guitarist to know. This song virtually changed the entire direction of music and made it happen practically over night. Many people have requested and wanted to know how to play this song. So, I found a video by martyzsongs – who did some other videos you can find on this site (that I found and posted from Youtube) as well as plenty of this you can find on his own site. This is a great lesson and goes into great detail to explain exactly how this song is played. One of the best video lessons I have seen. Great teacher.

How To Play Come As You Are by Nirvana
Everyone knows Nirvana. Almost everyone loves Nirvana. I found this video lesson of the classic Nirvana song “Come As You Are.” This is an excellent lesson and really breaks down the main riff of the song. The video is done by martyzsongs
Remember when you play this songs and have some effects, use chorus for the song because it is pretty dominant throughout the entire song. If you need a chorus pedal, be sure to stop buy Music 123, AMS, or Zzounds to pick you up a nice one.

How To Play Whole Lotta Love by Led Zeppelin
Led Zeppelin was one of the biggest bands back in the day. Lead by Jimmy Page on the guitar with some of the greatest riffs in blues rock. Here is a video with tab that will demonstrate how to play “Whole Lotta Love” by Led Zeppelin. Once you get the basic riff down, you will pretty much be on your way to being able to play the whole song because, well, that is basically the whole song.

How To Play Freebird by Lynyrd Skynyrd (Intro)
Every time you play a show somewhere, someone is bound to yell out “Freebird!” As annoying as it may get sometimes, you should grow to expect it. Sometimes even when you are sitting around with an acoustic your friends are going to see if you can play the song. Well, in about 10 minutes you will be able to play enough to humor them for a moment.
Here is a video that teaches you how to play the intro to Freebird. This video includes tabs to help you play along with it. This song is played with a slide; however, in the video he does not use a slide to play the song. But, you will still get the basic idea and you can check out some slide videos to get the slide part down perfect! Enjoy the video!
