What is the Major Scale on Guitar?

The major scale is the first scale you should learn in your musical venture. Everything else is built off this one scale. If you have this foundation, you will be well on your way to becoming not only a great guitarist, but a great musician. Remember, chords are built off scales and we already went over some basic chords and how they are formed. Let’s just run over a major scale to make sure you understand how we were getting those notes.

A scale is a group of musical notes collected in ascending and descending order, that provides material for or is used to conveniently represent part or all of a musical work including melody and/or harmony. So, basically, there are patterns that you follow to make a group of notes into scales. Once you understand how the scale is formed, you can move it to any key!
